A review of a very generous gift.
I was chatting on social media with one of our members and a long time customer of Freedom Kilts. He mentioned that he makes a limited number of custom walking sticks and offered to make one for me.
He asked me what I would like so I told him that the arthritis in my knees was really kicking up and asked if he could make a cane. While he normally makes long walking staffs he made this.

The length is made to my exact specifications. The stag antler is curved for my left hand. The shaft is Arbutus wood. There is a metal inner shaft holding the handle on covered in wrapped leather protected by Epoxy.
This thing can easily be used if I ever need to defend myself. It is strong, sturdy and should last the rest of my life.
And it is a thing of beauty. Not just a stick, but up there in the "work of art" category.
He does not sell these on any site and only does them one-off and custom.
But if you want a really nice stick send a message to Registered Hobbyist, Drew Coupar.

Very nice, Steve.
Here's hoping you never need to use it in anger on the mean streets of Victoria.
