Rob Roy movie sporran...
Has anyone ever seen (or made, for that matter) a faithful replica of the sporran worn by Lian Neeson in the film Rob Roy?
I know that there are a thousand "Rob Roy style" sporrans out there, made with a drawstring bag, a flap, and a belt loop. What I'm enquiring after is one that replicates the unique look of the sporran from the film.

I'll be very interested to hear if anyone has seen something that comes close!

Ryan,
There will very soon be a Ferguson Britt version of this. A certain sporran make you and I know has spent hours studying close-up stills of this film and is working his way through prototypes trying to get something that looks like what Liam Neeson is wearing.

Shhhhhh...

Ehem... Now then- It looks so far like no one has yet been able to figure out how to make a sporran that really looks like the one in the film.
I'll admit, I've tried to figure it out, but I'm still unsure as to exactly how the bag is made. In fact, if you look closely enough, it almost seems that he's not always wearing exactly the same sporran. It looks notably different, in various ways, throughout the film. I, and others(see above), am wondering if the costume people for the film had more than one sporran for Neeson's wardrobe, and that the two or more sporrans were not all constructed exactly the same way.

I've got 10 bucks that says Turpin can match it if you can show him a picture.

Some on this site come pretty close as well.

I just can't see enough detail in the picture to know for sure what it really looks like.

Another thought is to contact Sandy Powell who was the costume designer for the movie. I'll bet she knows.
