Source for Khaki Army Shirts?
Does anybody know of an online source for original or reproduction US Army twill khaki shirts like the wore during the Vietnam era?
I've been on ebay and they have several, but they all seem to be size small or medium...and they are varying degrees of stained/worn, etc. with patches sewn on that may leave marks that won't come out. I also check out police uniform sites and have yet to find what I consider an acceptable alternative.
Here's what I'm looking for:
- Khaki/Tan
- Short sleeve
- Cotton/Polyester Twill (herringbone or otherwise)
- Epaulettes
- Two button-down flap pockets (either single point or mitered corner)
- Size Large (16.5 neck, 22"/22.5" armpit to armpit)
Any suggestions/help would be appreciated!

I suggest Good will. I used to use them for Scout uniforms and have bought dozens of them (no I don’t have any) Size large or extra large are virtually non existent I guess most GI. were smaller back then. I also suggest Boy Scout uniform shirts or you can add ephlates to Dickie or Big mack work shirts.

A possibility...

Matty...yes...BSA shirts occurred to me (I'm an Eagle Scout, myself)...but the fabric is a bit thinner than I'm looking for. The shirt above might be about the same as well. I know that old army shirts were popular substitute BSA shirts back in the day, but you pretty much summarized my observations...they all seem to be small sizes and its been long enough now where they aren't even common items in surplus stores anymore...much less goodwill stores.
Keep the suggestions coming...

The last one I bought new, was from Cabela's. You may want to take a look at their Safari shirt

i don't know how they changed from WWII, but this looks a lot like what we wore in ROTC in the 60s.

P.S. I should add that it was Army Jr. ROTC in the late 60s. I'm pretty sure it was the official Army uniform.

Last US Army Khakis
I used to work in a gun shop with a retired artillery officer, and he mentioned at one time that the last khakis the army purchased were made by Dickies. I was in the Air Force in the 70s and their khaki uniform was just weirdly cut (the shirt, at least). Biggest oddity: Collar points were rounded.

Thanks to CajunScot (Todd) for sending me another link...this may be the one I end up going with. Here's the link for anybody else who may be interested.

yeah, those great old khaki flat pocket shortsleeve shirts are hard to come by! I wish I had mine from ROTC. (not that they'd fit!) The Army phased those out for the light green poplin shirts like 30 years ago, so the surplus chain is pretty dried up now.
I looked around for some of the old shirts to use for work a while ago without much luck, and ended up going with Dickies brand workshirts, they are pretty close, except no epaulettes.
I think the USMC still issues a similar shirt though?
