Is this a sporran?
I saw this on eBay. They said they are not sure if it's actually a real sporran but it kinda looks cool and weird at the same time. What do you think?

Sorry about the pics I had to do a screenshot off my iPhone

I'd say either sporran-inspired or a sporran in a previous life, but not currently a sporran.

I saw that earlier today and was considering the same thing. The thread from a couple of weeks ago about converting a woman's purse came to mind. I think this would be an exception. I think it would make an interesting day sporran for sure. It is certainly unique and, as SD said, I'm sure it was inspired by a sporran.
If the dimensions are right, I'd say "go for it"!

I do not see any adjustment in the strap, and it looks like the strap is affixed so that it cannot be taken off. Other than that, it looks cool. If the dimensions were right, I would get it and make the strap adjustable. Maybe by adding a wider piece of leather with slots to tie a half hitch with the existing straps. I know I've seen it but I cannot find a pic of it. I think Matt Newsome was using that strap system.

Maybe we should add another quality to Ron Riverkilt's mantra about having Quality, Price or Service...
....Weirdness.
Actually looks like the perfect sporran for a guy that I used to hang out with because it would have matched his moustache perfectly.

It is probably a shoulder bag of some sort, but if the size was right I would wear it as a sporran. A bit of TLC on the leather and maybe a bit of cleaning to the horsehair and there is one unique sporran.

In re-reading the description ... size is 11 inches. It would take more of a man than me to pull that off.

Well I am a man of substance. :-) I thought it would be different in a good way the more I look at the more I think someone was walking along making their way to a moustash convention when out of the bushes somebody tackles him to the ground mashes his face in mud and then snipped off his moustash as their trophy.
