    Which sporran?

I've always liked the hair sporrans, but have never found one that suit my personal taste/style. Then I stumbled upon these two. They're simple and understated. Now I can't make up my mind - which is a good problem to have.

They are by the same craftsman and the same price, both are white goat.. Which would you choose and why?

I would choose the one with the chrome/silver cantle as it is the dressier one.

I love them both! Clearly as others have pointed out, the leather flapped one is for daywear, and the silver cantled one is for evening/formal situations. If I had to go with only one, I'd choose the second one.

BTW, As a MacRae myself (i.e. The Mackenzie's Shirt Of Mail), how about helping out a comrade and telling me who is selling these? I've been looking for a nice goat hair sporran for some time.

Donnie @ Wyvern Leatherworks. Both are one-of-a-kind.

How about you get both and spare my pocketbook.

Personally I'd get more use out of the daywear one but they are both fine.
    Like the formal one too.

If you get the first, and wear it more often, will the extra chains wear on the front apron more. I can't tell from the photos what the contact next to the kilt would be.
I do like the first because it would fit my personality better. I can dress up rather smartly, but will soon open my mouth and speak, other's then know I usually am not a regular at black tie events.
