sporran- How bad or not is this one ?
I got this sporran for nearly nothing, thinking I may be able to restore it a bit. It had been colorized and hardware, including a buckle added. The leather and workmanship of the body is well done. I improved the leather, but I am afraid any other attempt modify it would be not be successful. I doubt I will wear it, but am curious as to what others think ?

In my view, there is little good that can be said about it. Sorry.

I agree about the body. I like the shape and rolled edge, and the color is okay. The diagonally cut flap and all that hardware on the face, not so much.

I give them points for thinking out of the box, But, the diagonal closure string is pulling the "hinge" crooked and thus the flap is off center.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

That's a very unusual looking sporran. I can't say that I've ever seen one quite like this.

very diplomatic
I can say it might look ok with a steampunk or roughed up kilt from Alt.kilts, but not with anything traditional

The creator was definitely thinking outside the box. Then again, I'd probably rather wear the box. While the design shows creativity, it just doesn't work for me, especially the way the cord pulls the flap off center.

I will have to admit that I prefer symmetrical designs over asymmetrical. The human form is quite symmetrical and IMHO we should work with it not against it.
I am not a sash person either.

I'm with Leatherneck Donald. If you want a youthful alternative take with a contemporary kilt, or a steampunk look, then yes, it's probably pretty good for that. With a traditional kilt, nope, definitely not.
