Suggestion For A Good Belt Craftsman
I learned, very disappointingly, that Steve Frazier is taking time off from Occonee Leatherworks. He is not sure for how long. Anyway, I have a beautiful black kilt belt with edge beading and celtic knots from Steve and it is great. I had been putting my spare change away for a few months to get a similar belt but with a buckle as opposed to the waist plate kind I currently own. So if anyone has a suggestion for someone who does belts with similiar designs please let me know. FWIW, Donnie at Wyvern makes beautiful belts I have couple along with sporran belts and sporrans. Make no mistake these are first class, but different from what I am looking for. The one I am talking about is shown in this picture I found on Google Images that actually belongs to Mark (McFarkus) http://media.photobucket.com/image/o...rranHanger.jpg

Re: Suggestion For A Good Belt Craftsman
Scotweb do a plain one with the buckle type you are after:
http://www.scotweb.co.uk/products/gr...square-buckle/
Although there is nothing on their website I bought a sporran from http://www.leathersporrans.co.uk/ and they made me a belt (with a buckle as opposed to a plate) to go with it. I believe they make everything to order and by the look of their tooled sporrans (mine was plain) they certainly have the ability to make something to your specifications. It might be worth dropping them an email to see if they can help. I was extremely pleased with both my belt and sporran. A small bonus is that the price was very keen.

FWIW... look in the Yellow Pages. There are all kinds of custom leather workers in the LA area who can make just about anything you want. Failing that, if you are brave, head down to Tiajuana... there is no shortage of leather workers in Baja.

This is pretty close to what I was looking for.

I recently purchased a sporran from them and couldn't be happier with the quality.

Sorry to hear that Steve is taking time out from Occone Leather Works. Nothing serious, I hope?
I too have a wonderful belt and sporran strap made by Steve (probably exactly what you're looking for!). Excellent quality, excellent work and excellent customer service.
What more could you ask for?
