Lovat green tweed waistcoats are available at most Highland outfitters. They can often be purchased with a matching jacket or on their own. I purchased my jacket without a waistcoat and while I've seen many for sale, haven't found one that is a close enough match to my jacket and so I've been wearing contrasting waistcoats and actually enjoy the look so I'm in no hurry to get the lovat green....

I say go for it. It is a nice, classic look.

Greetings OCD and welcome to X Marks.

I've done the same as Nathan myself (just kinda looking for the right waist coat) but, I wouldn't worry too much about matching your hose. Lovat green is versatile and works with a lot of hose colors especially black, gray and earthy colors but, you should also consider how a lovat green waist coat might work with a future Kilt jacket purchase (that is if you intend to wear it such).

That said, my kilt jacket is lovat green and I love it but, I wear brown/tan waist coats.

Any type/pattern/colour of tweed would work nicely, and don't worry about matching.
