    SWK Dress sporran?

Just wondering if anyone has bought the Stillwater kilts grey fur dress sporran (pictured below) and what they think of it?

Or if anyone else has bought any other dress sporrans under $100? I'm looking for my wedding next year - which i will most likely be in a charcoal tweed jacket and vest

How often are you likely to wear it after the wedding?

well, I do have a plain black sporran for less formal events, so I would say anywhere from 1 to 3 times a year (christmas mass being guaranteed, and then depending on the year maybe a friends wedding and or another formal event or two a year)

I have that one in white, you can see it in my Avatar. I like it, i dont have the need to dress up that often, so i went with that one. watch out. the tassles come off easy. its an easy fix, but just so you know.

We purchased a formal fur sporran from eBay seller idmhgeoffreyandco, store name is Geoffrey Made for Scottish. Quite inexpensive but does the job for the 1 or 2 times it is needed each year. I think you'll find other customer reviews if you search here (eBay feedback is excellent).

I have that exact sporran. I swapped the grey tassels for white ones, and I think it looks rather sharp, so long as no one makes a close inspection of it. When you look closely, you can see that the chrome paint muddles the details in the cantle a little, which is really where the difference is. It's a really nice sporran for the price! Well worth the $40 or so dollars.

This picture is from before I swapped the tassels.

I like to break the taboo of mixing modern kilts with traditional kit. Our lady Sydnie in the thread above me at Flamingo Kilts made the kilt and waistcoat.

    Thumbs up

I got that same sporran about a year ago. I've only worn it a few times at formal stuff, and it is still looking good and holding up fine. An good value for the money!
