Tartan Shirts for solid kilts
Just got a new Orvis catalog www.orvis.com they have some nice tartan shirts that would go well with solid color kilts. Supposed to be district tartans but they don't match the district tartans shown by STA or other sites so guess they made up the names themselves, but the tartans are nice. One looks a bit like the Isle of Skye tartan.
Four are here http://www.orvis.com/store/product_c...item_code=09lk
for this shirt

and they also offer a Black Watch tartan shirt. And for those who can't wear kilts to work, a selection of tartan pants.
Nice to see tartans offered in shirts though. Makes a great top for a solid color kilt.

There you go Ron MacLeod Dress Pants and that shirt your boss would be begging you to wear a kilt to work again.

OK - Here's a true story (on me) that might fit the bill.
I have two kilts that get a lot of wear, mainly around the house, yard work in the garage, changing oil, etc etc. One is an Black Watch half sett from sport kilt and another is Royal Stewart "fashion" tartan. Anyway both are in lightweight matterial, stand up to washing well and are easy to put on. In reality, they don't really qualify as kilts, they are more like beach wraps with pleats.
So about a week ago, when it was really hot, I threw on the Royal Stewart one and I also put on a loud Hawaiian shirt. I was in heaven. It was cool, breazy, man comfortable !! I'm puttering around with my pick-em-up truck with the garage door open, and I needed to start the truck to check the timing..... I went in search of the keys and couldn't locate them anywhere. I looked everywhere!
I go to the Battle Axe and ask if she has seen my truck keys, and she says that she has hidden them, and that I can only get them back if I change the shirt or the kilt, but that I was not allowed out of the neighborhood dressed as I was. I also forgot to mention that I had a pair of red crocs on my feet.
Women - Can't live with them, and can't live with them.

LOL, Sounds like something I would do. Throw on a kilt, throw on a shirt, slip on some shoes and out the door. "What do you mean it doesn't match?"

Must say, though, that I'm surprised that for the US Military tartan they have the Coast Guard, but not one for the Marines!
