Tilley classic Winter Hat in Harris Tweed - half-price with caveat

Just discovered that I have lost my grey tweed Tilley Winter Hat (a decade outside the 2-year loss guarantee).
On checking Tilley's website I see they have the same Harris Tweed version I bought in September, originally $115, on sale for $57.

I think I will order another one for backup!

Caveat: the reviews seem to indicate the interfacing (if any) under the tweed in the crown isn't resilient enough to withstand the crushing when shipped flat. Several people have had to steam theirs back into shape. In mine the brim with its double-thickness of tweed keeps its shape very well, and the crown merely looks 'lived-in' when it doesn't have a head in it (pre-jocked as it were.) I conjecture this may be the reason for the discount and the "All sale items are final sale." note.

Handsome cover. I'd consider one myself, especially for that price, but I prefer my hats with a lot more brim.

I'd wear a sombrero with my kilt, except I don't think I could pull it off. Sigh, first world problems, right?
Why be normal when you can be yourself?

I bought one of these a few years ago. Don't wear it much, since it's rarely cold enough here in Texas to warrant a true winter hat. But I agree that the crown tends to keep a "crushed" shape. It's the thinnest portion of tweed on the entire hat. Maybe steaming it back to shape would work; I haven't tried it. But when I set it flat on a shelf or table, the top collapses. I'm OK with that, because I sort of like the crushed look when I'm wearing it. But if you wanted a stiffer shape, you may have to starch it or something.

The fold-down ear warmers were very handy when I made a trip to Kansas City a few winters ago, and it was zero degrees with 30mph winds!
