    Watch for Kilt Wearing

I typically do not wear a watch. It is mainly because I can not stand to have something on my wrist. If I am wearing a kilt I could drop a watch in my sporran and then go fishing for it when I want to know the time. My question is there any type of watch and 'band' out there such that I could hang a watch from a 3 inch wide belt?

I know I have seen a thread on that. I think I may have even posted in it because I use a pocket watch. I'm guessing that is what you mean.

Anyway, I think one of the ideas was to make a pouch that hangs from the belt. I started one, but put it aside because I ran out of materials and never got back to it.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

There have been a couple of l-o-n-g threads about pocket watches. In one of them I mentioned the leather watch cases that our local bus drivers used to wear on their belts and a little googling located some contemporary versions of those cases. Problem may be that most things aren't made with three inch belts in mind. Start thinking custom work...look around for a leather shop that does work for bikers and I'm sure that they can knock something up for you.

I too dislike things on my wrist, or any jewelry for that matter. I just use a pocket watch and find a nice leather, or other type, of attachment to attach the watch chain to the sporran strap. When I drop it into the sporran, I can fetch it using the attached watch chain.. easier than fishing for it.
