where to buy belt buckles?
Does anyone know of a good place to buy belt buckles for one of those ubiquitous black leather with velcro fastener belts? Most of the ones I have seen online look really cheap. Oh, and it would be great if they were really cheap too!
It's to be worn with an SWK black shadow tartan or a traditional wool in Ferguson tartan.

Got mine on ebay real cheap and it's of the same quality of some of the high priced crap I saw at Fergus this year.

My current one is like this. I was hoping for something a little more substantial. Maybe pewter?

I also have a WWII-era German one similar to this but the belt is thinner than I like:

Those are excellent Cavscout. I really like the round one.

I had one like your first one after a while the backing snapped off of it, however I was lucky enough to order my Clan Crest buckle from Cavscout and have been extremely happy with it, this is not a cheap piece of tin it is quality.

I think I have this exact buckle (so does turpin). If so it is from Gaelic Themes and extremely handsome and made of heavy pewter . I have receieved many compliments on mine. This is just my opinion, but I think the round shape and pewter is less formal than the rectangle and bright chrome ones. This makes it better for smart daywear use, though it still works fine for dress events.

Beautiful buckle, wish I owned one, but it's not WWII era: The eagle is the old pre-WWII "Reichsadler" that was used on the Deutschmark currency. The motto means "Unity, Right, and Freedom," the motto of today's German Republic, and it is also the first line of the German national anthem (it's not Deutschland, Deutschland uber Alles....)
This is the WWII Nazi Eagle, which is quite different:
