Wow - I like the looks of them! They are very similar in shape and construction to LL Bean's Maine Lodge Boots. So similar, in fact, that I wonder if they are made by the same manufacturer?

If I hadn't just bought myself a new pair of boots last weekend, I'd be all over those to see if they would work for me. I'll be honest, though. There are two things that concern me about them.

    1. If they are anything like the LL Bean boots (which I'm not saying they are, but it would be worth checking out if anyone buys them), the faux-wood looking stuff on the sides of the heels is just a glued-on laminate. There have been a lot of people complaining about it peeling off after a very short time. So if anyone gets these wingtip boots, check that first. It'll be easy to see if it's a laminate cover.

    2. The rolled stitch at the top. The reason I sent back my LL Bean boots is because the tops of the boots had an incredibly stiff rolled hem that felt like it had a wire inside of it. It looks exactly like the hem on these wingtip boots. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get it to stop digging into my leg. It hurt like hell after wearing them for a day.

Other than that, they look like pretty cool boots.

I bought a pair. They run large so I sent back the first pair and got 1/2 size smaller than my usual size and they fit great. I don't plan on wearing them every day so we'll see how it goes. Only problem now is I have to get a brown sporran, brown sporran strap & a brown belt If I ever see them in black at that price I'll be all over them too!

That is a VERY good price for that shoe. I have been admiring that style for some time. http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/produc...electedFitID=0
