WPG sporran review
Got a late birthday present from Red_Raven Studios today. She gave me one of the brown military day sporrans from What Price Glory.
This is the sporran
This is a picture I took of the sporran...

As you can see, it's very plain-jane. It should lend itself well to dressing up, though (I wanted a plain brown sporran for day wear).
The flap is held closed by a slot in the flap that pops over a brass stud. It seems secure right now, though it may loosen up some with wear. The stud is two pieces that screw together through a hole in the sporran. This means that if it becomes too loose, it can be easily removed for replacement by some other sort of fastener.
The sporran is roughly seven inches by seven inches and about two inches front to back. For those of you who own an SWK sporran, it's roughly the same size. The leather appears to be heavier than the SWK, and higher quality. At the same time, the sides are a bit stiffer, and the front and back softer and more pliable. That makes it much easier to get your hand into it than the SWK sporran.
All in all, I am happy with it, and see it as $25.00 well spent.

I like it. I't's nice to finally see a pic of one of them, I don't believe there's a picture posted on his site.

I should also mention the sporran strap. You have a choice of a 42" strap, or a 48" strap. The strap is made from the same leather as the sporran, and dyed front and back. The buckle is cast, and looks like quality stuff (it is military, after all).

Thanks for the post. Good to actually see one. I've been loooking for a cheap sporran I can fit my hand in.

Thank you for posting a review of this sporran, I have been looking for an affordable day wear brown sporran, and considering this one also. But did not want to spend the money on something sight unseen.

This also looks like it could be customizable. A good starting point for adding on stuff and making it a bit dressier.

I have the same sporran from WPG and I quite like that it is understated. It really lends it self to business daywear or casual since it gives the required sporran look without bringing attention to itself. Also mine has held up very well including the closure. It's much easier to close than many I have owned.

It looks like a good value purchase, but I don't like the closure at all. It looks like it would pop open and/or get loose very quickly.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

It looks like a good work sporran. I have to wear an apron, so sporrans tend to be bulky underneath. This one looks like a perfect under-apron sporran. Is it as easy to open and close as it looks?
