1632 (Ring of Fire)
I saw the post on The Outlander, which I may watch at least the first part of (his boots look nice) and it got me to thinking about a book series I loved.
It's called 1632 or Ring of Fire series.
I have not read the whole thing, and it should all be taken with a grain of salt (as it is a time-displaced town in the midst of the 100 Year War) but it's a good bit of fun to read. Plus, there's a Scotsman involved who is quite the military mind. Both a gentleman and a tactician.
For those who are looking for another historical fiction.

The first book of the 1632/Ring of Fire series is available as an e-book in the Baen Free Library.

So... let's say that it was going to be made into a series a' la Game of Thrones.
Your challenge: cast it. You have access to any actor alive, American, European, Australian, whoever. Good luck.
