    Amazed, Surprised, and Pleased.

I'm walking the line here, so please bear with me. Just enthused at the merging of two of my addictions that are not possible to merge on this forum - with good reason of course.

I just received my new July 2017 issue of [CENSORED] World magazine (published since 1959). On Page 8 in the "Kit Up" section, item #3 is the 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt. The magazine copy reads,

"Whether you are man enough to wear this to the gym, range, or even tactical training the Tactical Duty Kilt is literal to the term "going commando," and gives new meaning to "free range." (Ba-da ching!...we kilt it!).

With great airflow/ventilation and a large range of motion, this kilt is comfortable for everyday wear. It has generously deep front pockets and a removable TDY-styled cargo pockets with slots for both [CENSORED] and [CENSORED] [CENSORED]. It uses heavy duty snaps and comes equipped with two D-rings for attaching carabineer or other accessories. The kilt is constructed of TACLITE rip-stop fabric, features reinforced triple-stitching and is coated with a Teflon finish. Heavy-duty belt loops accommodate a 1.75 inch belt. It comes in black, TDU Green, Moss, TDU Khaki, Stone, Burnt, and Multi-cam."

A fine write up for sure. Though IF....men from this most addictive sport start kilting up and find us they will have to learn the same restraint those of us already here have learned with regard to kilting related activities.

Also appears 5.11 has taken their kilts from a novelty offering to a regular part of their product line.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

I like the 511 kilts. They do not look as good as something like Stumptown but do not cost near as much.

That is not one I subscribe too. I'll have to look for it at the store. I've been thinking of a utility kilt to wear while working around the farm.

I've got a 5.11 TDK on order, I wear their tactical trousers for search and rescue and they're fantastic, wanted a tactical kilt to go with them.

It'd be even better if they offered it in navy, as that is our duty uniform trouser color.

I'd love to replace my cargoes with a kilt one morning, just to see the Captain's face.
