Article: Men wear kilts to clean windows, gutters

Men wear kilts to clean windows, gutters
    2013-04-03 19:19:03.916 GMT

HOLLISTON, Mass., April 3 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts business called Men in Kilts offers customers window washing, pressure washing and gutter cleaning by men dressed in traditional Scottish garb.
Shane Ross of the Holliston, Mass., business, a franchise spun off from the original Men in Kilts service in Vancouver, British Columbia, said the response had been positive, WHDH-TV, Boston, reported Wednesday.
"I got a good thumbs up from everybody. They liked it, they liked the idea of the kilt," Ross said.
Ross said he isn't bothered by working in a kilt.
"Nope, I'm Scottish so I don't mind it at all, paying tribute to my heritage," he said.
Judy Briggs, the franchise owner, said the men do a lot of climbing in their kilts but they remind customers of their "no peeking" rule.
"We did a photo shoot last week in Boston. My son was up on the second floor and the women were walking down the street and instead of going around the ladder, they'd go under the ladder. And he just politely said, 'no peeking,'" Briggs said.

They sell a great T-shirt too.
Says "no peeking" on the front and the men in kilts logo on the back.

Chap named Brand began the company here in Vancouver in 2005 or 2006. It was so successful he and his partners took it franchise and spread into the US a couple of years ago. They've been cleaning my windows for 4 or 5 years now. Good lads.

Rex, I'll bet that they get a kick out of you!

Do you have them set straight about not wearing their kilts below their knees?

I don't know about the 'kick', Bren, but there is always a pot of coffee and biscuits in the kitchen for them. In January the Vancouver lads participated in the SFU Centre for Scottish Studies' Burns Marathon and took photos of each participant as we -- with great ease -- set a new world record for reading Burns' poetry. http://www.scottish.sfu.ca/sfus_robert_burns_marathon

That's pretty awesome! Thank you for sharing.

Btw, speaking of coffee, we in the US love a cup of Joe.

In Australia, the coffee variants are, real coffee, instant coffee, and International Roast.
Is "Joe" another reference to coffee?
