Billy Connelly fit to be kilted

I haven't seen this here before, so thought some of you might like a glimpse of the Big Yin in a kilt

One can't help but notice even with very un-traditional attire the Big Yin, still manages to wear it in a traditional way-----and very smart and effective it is too. One does not need tartan, tweed, tattersall shirts, regimental tie(he is an ex Para), big boots, scrunched down hose, hose too high, sandals, trainers, brogues, kilt being worn inches below the knee, sporran hanging somewhere near the knees to look different. Perhaps it's his inherent Scottish-ness that provides his instinctive knowledge on how to wear the kilt and his choice of attire to best effect?

Quite right, "The Big Yin." Also, it's Billy Connolly.

Here's several more images that I really like of him. Photos were taken at The Lonach Gathering in Bellabeg Park, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, of which Billy is an active participant and huge supporter. I've attended the The Lonach Gathering, which was founded in 1823 by Sir Charles Forbes, 1st Baronet of Newe and Edinglassie (1773-1849), a few times and it's always a fun day out.

    I think it's because he's Clan Donald...

Great photos, .... but is that Steve Martin sitting next to Billy? I have to say that Steve is really rockin' the kilt too. And look at those hose!
