Gene Kelly! Actually, they did a made-for-TV version in the sixties with Robert Goulet...sponsored by Armstrong flooring which then produced a soundtrack album and my mom got a copy...it's one thing to hear ol' Gene sing those songs but imagine Bob Goulet belting them out...
However...I will watch anything with Cyd Charisse in it...very high on my babe-o-meter.

Believe it or not, Brigadoon is the thing that got me started with kilts. Funny thing is I played the main character when the local theater put it on, and he never wears a kilt! But our choreographer started Highland dance classes afterward, and I wore a kilt for the first time at a class.

I enjoyed the dancing in the movie quite a lot, but I found the songs pleasant but not memorable.

The plot is fairly risible and the Scottish accents are deplorable and the scenery unbelievably false but besides the dancing, the songs are very memorable or perhaps it's just that I have probably seen in more times than Panache!
My sympathies have always firmly been with poor Harry Beaton!

Trefor,
It's just that I'm comparing it to things like "West Side Story" when one finds oneself humming the songs for weeks afterwards...

Bother! I'll have this stuck in my head for the rest of the day

I enjoyed Brigadoon, but I'm more of an "Oklahoma" man.
Oh what a beautiful morning, .....
Of course, that may be because the girl who sang "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No" in my high school musical was just adorable.
