Commercial for Dewar's Whisky 1898
Apparently the world's first ever cinematic commercial, made at great expense!

Fascinating! I got a kick how the tassels on the sporran just dance.
But is the man on the right in a hussar hat wearing a mini-kilt???

It seems they may be wearing their kilts backwards. The pleats appear to in the front.
It's the "demon" whiskey

Yes, that's what prompted me to look for it on Youtube.

I dunno - it looks like the guy in the middle has the pleats all the way around. Maybe it's a variation on a belted plaid?

Well there you have it! Proof that we have all been wearing 'em backwards. The film does not lie! Either that or it is reason not to drink whisky. Either one is tough to take. Thanks for the link! Very enjoyable.

They do, but I find it fascinating from a historical point of view. I suspect that the film was shot in the US as it was first beamed onto the side of a building in New York and literally stopped traffic. However, when it was shown at a film festival in Edinburgh a few years ago it drew roars of laughter due to the kilts being worn the wrong way round.
