    Dalai Lama in Scotland

Not a kilt per se, but a tartan scarf:

One of my good friends was going to see him; I'll have to catch up with her and see if she managed to meet him.

    Thank you for the picture.

What a treat for those children to meet His Holiness. That should be a memory they will have for a lifetime. His Holiness exudes peace, happiness and compassion unlike any other person can. I find it fantastic he donned the tartan scarf and shared in the culture of Scotland. Perhaps it was given to him like a Khata, which is a ceremonial scarf given in friendship and compassion.

I love this image, thanks for sharing it. His Holiness is an amazing man. I had the pleasure of seeing him when was traveling through Atlanta (had to screen some of the lower level members of his entourage as they didn't have diplomatic immunity like he and his direct advisers.) I really like the Government tartan matching well with his dhonka.

Wish he'd still be there in 6 weeks when I'm up there with the family. Being Buddhists, it'd have been a great honour to meet His Holiness.
He truly is a shining example to all of us, no matter what your creed.
