Dominos Pizza Tartan Kilt for New Store in Glasgow
We were recently asked to design a tartan for a coporate client, the tartan was to match the colours used in their logo - you can see the results here:

It ties in with Dominos opening a new store in Glasgow. I wonder if the deliver drivers will wear them!

I love the tartan, but think that they need to raise the kilt a touch and perhaps wear a less formal sporran.

So they're saying that the kilt will be an optional uniform for employees. How many do you think will choose that?
My first job in high school was at a Mr. Gatti's Pizza. It was a messy job that ruined most of my clothing with stains from tomato sauce and grease. And that was even with wearing an apron. There just isn't any way to work in a pizza environment and keep something like a kilt clean. They'd need to be made from PV with teflon, and be washed very often. I just wouldn't see a kilt (or much less, a sporran) lasting very long as a suitable uniform. And those white hose? They won't be white for long.
*edited to add: Wow, sorry if that came off as negative. The tartan seems like a very appropriate design to match their corporate colours and logo. Whilst I may not really understand the need for a new tartan design for a pizza chain, I'd say that this one nailed it.

You'd certainly see them coming up the street with your pizza!

You beat me to it - I just left a meeting to find this article sent to me by 7 people and wanted to share with everyone here.
I lile the tartan as well, and have been looking for one in orange and blue for a while, though I want it predominantly orange.
The question is, with Dominos always claiming to use premium ingredients, will the kilts be wool, PV, or acrylic??? 😂

Two out of three apparently according to this article, but going commando is not allowed!
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Tangent...
Oh wow. We used to have a few of those down here, haven't thought about them I years. Good stuff, they had a great spot on the campus strip IIRC.

The brightest spot in this story (even brighter than the tartan, which is pretty bright) is that TWO OUT OF THREE employees asked for it. That's real news.

For orange and blue check out the first version of Dalrymple of Castleton. The designer took some liberties and had it done in orange and blue and not the correct green and orange.. I think the best pictures of it are on the Dalgliesh site.

I worked a pizza hut express, which may be closer in style to a Dominoes and keeping the clothes clean wasn't too hard, stains happened from time to time but the apron did catch most. We were given uniform shirts that we had to clean ourselves and with as stingy as they could be about offering them out, if they got stained that easily we'd have very quickly looked like real slobs.
Pretty sweet to hear that 2/3 would be happy to wear them, there's hope for the future. But what do they need the sporran for? Could see it for the delivery driver and the manager but that's about it.
