I figured you guys would enjoy this!
Hello everyone, I'm new here, so I figured I would show this to you all to get my new name a little better known around here.
This appeared in one of Portland, Oregon's local free art/music newspapers. I absolutely had to clip and save this one! Luckily this paper is also online, so I can share it with all my online kilted friends.
I can safely say that my response would be quite similar, as I'm sure many of yours would be too!
Here it is.....enjoy

Hmmm. I think that maybe a little over the edge for this forum. We tend to keep our language clean no matter how tough we are.

I have to agree with you Hank. Personally, I hate to hear that sort of 'language' being spoken, but find it totally abhorent in print. It is definitely not for me.

I hear that language every day. I guess I'm used to it because it just rolls off my back. I mentally delete the offensive words and pay attention to the gist of the remarks.

It doesn't phase me at all... but I guess thats because I'm a teenager and its in most of the music (not as gross as some of the stuff in most rap) and movies I like.

Didn't mean to offend anyone
Hello there
I'm hoping I didn't completely screw up my relations with people by posting that link here.
I guess I assumed that if it weren't for the distance between us, we might as well be downing pints and swapping dirty kilt jokes down at the pub, I guess I have just grown too accustomed to four letter words
I'll make this a learning experience and make sure I do a little "word washing" or at least warn people ahead of time about anything vulgar or offensive I might post in the future.
Thanks for not banning me :-)
Bye for now

Slow down boys!
Banning?
Deleting the thread?
I've seen that page before and wasn't offended then or now.
Nothing offensive was posted on this site. It was a link to what some of you found offensive. A warning of offensive material may have been warranted and we have been assured that will happen in the future, so what's the problem?

I couldn't agree more Bear. I found nothing offensive about it. Besides, if I did find it offensive I would have just ignored it. I have to say that I don't like the idea of threads being deleted. Edited......yes, but not deleted. Especially for something as minor as this.
A thread that was getting too hot over at Tom's cafe was deleted (despite the fact that Hamish's threat to leave ended the thread quickly. I have lost respect for that site because of it.
