    J. Crew Explores the Isle of Skye

I have never posted here before, but I wanted credit for discovering this one: J. Crew did a lot with tartan last holiday season, but this season, it has gone all-out, employing 30 models from the Isle of Skye and photographing them on the beautiful island in Scottish tartans and English tweeds. Visit www.jcrew.com to see the beautiful, informative introduction (complete with bagpipe music and a Scottish narrator) to "A Highland Holiday" and the Isle of Skye.

My wife showed me the J Crew website. You've got to see it.

Ach, here I was sitting down to be the first to post about the J. Crew catalog we got in the mail yesterday and the kilts therein, but I'm not surprised to see that someone else has gotten there first.

I did want to say that I thought the gents in kilts in the catalog were the best dressed, though! (though it is clear that because they're both older that their attire isn't to be found in the items for sale...too bad!)

I usually skip the descriptions in the catalog because they're so inane, but I'm glad I went to the web site and watched the introduction (which actually made sense) and gave some background for the beautiful Isle of Skye scenery. I'll have to go back and check the print catalog and see if they give some of the same description there. Nice to see!

    First... Welcome!

What a nice bit of advertising.
I didn't see any Isle of Sky tartan... but I enjoyed it none the less.

I really enjoyed it as well. I spotted a couple of things I "need."

    Fun presentation. Thanks.
One of their stores is walking distance to me.
I love their stuff even if I can’t afford everything I like.

One critique: Their ”Black Watch tartan vest”, …“The Campbell clan's ‘ancient’ tartan...” appears to have red and yellow and white/grey lines in it.
    That's not right is it?
