Jalopnik Article about the 2017 Goodwood Revival
Ran across this article about a vintage automobile show and race that occurs annually in the UK. Tartan and tweed are mentioned prominently and one of the first pics is of a gent in proper trews and Prince Charlie. His shoes are probably an accommodation to the mud mentioned in the article. Apparently, the fancy dress is almost required (no jeans and t-shirts) and the costume seems to favor the years directly after WWII. It mentions that tartan is well represented and has its privileges (from the article):
Tartan of every color flashed beneath the English sun. Between races, you had an opportunity to walk to the track, but only if you were wearing tartan.
