He looks like he's just been dragged out of bed and told to put the kilt on over his PJs.
My face would look much the same if that had happened to me at his age.

He doesn't look extremely happy. The role of the photo model has changed. In the past they had to be nice. Now they have to express a mood. Here it is the image of a rebellious young teen. He looks the part

There's definitely something amiss in this photo. His right knee/upper thigh does indeed appear where it shouldn't, and the fringe on the apron stops at that point, which it shouldn't. Furthermore, there's something wrong with the pleats at his left hip too, they are rather bunched up and I'd say even appear to go the wrong way. Not figured it out yet.

Looks like it is being worn in a messy fashion like his hair. At least the look is out there and being seen.
