    Kilt Making Film Circa 1952

My apologies if this has been posted or if I posted in the wrong group. I enjoy watching old films, and British Pathé has plenty to watch.

1 minute and 51 seconds of, "I had to watch it several times". I figured out to turn off the sound and check for details. Rapid but still useful.

I agree. There was also one other film on the same page that was involved the ladies of the Auxiliary Territorial Service making their own kilts.

But Wait! There's a third short for kilting of the Regiments. Good example of pleating to the stripe, backing, tearing the tartan instead of cutting (and why) and even pipers during review. Thanks for the link and I hope everyone enjoys the 1939 "shorts".

Yes, it has been posted before, along with several others from British Pathe. If you type in "kilt" in the search option, you'll get loads of wonderful, old videos (some better than others) featuring Highland Dress. The Scottish Screen Archive is another good one. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
