Knievel's wild ride
Was vegging on the couch with my wife this afternoon flipping between several shows but one was about Robby Knievel. It's one of the reality shows where famous people with a floundering career broadcast their lives to the world.
A part of the show was Knievel's manager looking for a band in Seattle to open for a jump. You guessed it, one of the bands had a guy in what I think was an olive mocker.
The judges asked why the kilt and the musician said he was 1/4 scottish. The judge then replyed that 1/4 of his scottish was hanging out of his kilt
Even with the kilt the band didn't get the gig ;)

I'm not sure that you'd get universal agreement that Robby's career is "floundering," given some of the jumps he's made recently. Even though he's rough around the edges, I consider him to be a better man, overall, than his old man.
Maybe it's partly due to my admiration for "outlaws" from Montana?
Now if Robby did a jump in a kilt, how would you feel about his career?

I grew up with his dad blazing the trail that Robby is using. (I even had the Rocket Car with Parachute from his Snake River Jump!) Robby will always be number 2 behind him.
While it is impressive to jump a motorcycle that far I'd much rather watch the guys racing motocross and doing acrobatic stunts.
As to floundering...Any celebrity with a rocking career won't waste their time on a "reality" TV program.
But more on topic, If Barleyjuice had auditioned for Robby's opening act I KNOW the power of the kilt would have prevailed

cavscout, I don't want to tear down anybody else's childhood heroes, so the anecdotal info I have from people who have met and worked with Mr. Evel Kneivel will remain unknown to you. While I personally don't care for the gentleman, I do respect his brand of daredevilry, nonetheless.

I'll simply refer back to my "outlaw" comment. Robbie is not ANY celebrity, but I am hardly here to champion his cause, regardless of what his motivation for doing the series might be. ($$$$ from a TV network, perhaps?)

Just having been for the first time to Barleyjuice's website, I'll definitely have to agree with that assessment!
Cheers!
