    The mansion

    Hi,
I'm new here, but I have a minor media plug. I was one of the camera people on the reality show, "The Mansion" currently showing on WTBS. Four episodes have aired to date, and you can see me kilted briefly in shows 2 and 4. While we as camera crews are supposed to be invisible, we sometimes do get in someone els's shot.

Ep 4 (which will rerun next Saturday at 9:00 am) has me standing behind the contestant Michelle while she is being intrviewed, and you can see me running around durring the time lapse of the Bobcat at work.

    Greetings, Adam....

Interesting introduction. Please tell us a bit more about yourself... how you became a kilt fan etc. Sounds like you have yourself one heck of an interesting career. Any more interesting storeys to tell? BTW, now that you've joined the Xmarks roster, you have some gallery space to post some still shots. Please jump right in when the notion strikes!

    cheers,
    blu

    the mansion and me

I just posted three pics from the set of the mansion in the randon folder.

As for me, I got my first kilt (a great kilt in the Aberdeen tartan) as a wedding present from my wife, and then a dress kilt in Glasgow while on vacation 5 years ago.

Just over three years ago, I discovered Utilikilts, and today I own 8 and am kilted about 90% of the time. As for my career, I have shot two national TV shows (the Mansion and Monster Nation - premiers Nov 1) while kilted. Additionally, I have shot five movies, three are shorts and two are features (Dead Horse, and Grimm Reality) while kilted.

    Adam,

Welcome to the forum! It is always good to meet other kilted gents. Great pictures, will be looking forward to seeing and hearing more from you!

Glad to see that you are being kilted in the media even if it is from behind the scenes.

    Welcome Adam,

Good pics at work. Did you dye a white workman's to get the pink? purple? violet? whatever color that kilt is?

Been thinking about doing that, just no clue how easy or difficult that is. Have an old hippie friend, now Rainbow Family, willing to tie die a white workman's for me...and advice appreciated.

    Thanks,

    dye job

It was a white workman's that has been dyed, but I did not do it. I bought this UK at GenCon, and Gustav (one of the guys who were staffing the booth for UK) had had it done for an event. However, he agreed to sell it to me after I went nuts over it.

The white holds dye well, so definitely give it a try.

Welcome Adam, nice to see you here. Nice to see you've jumped in with piccies and all!

I love to see men working their job in a kilt, how long have you been doing that? What reaction have you had from your peers?

Wow David, what a good eye!

Welcome David, it's always good to have another kilt addict join the forum. It's doubly good when the new member is such a dedicated kilter and has such an interesting job.

Sad thing about the Pez collection is that you can only see about 1/3 of it in the pic.
