It is good to see Hong Kong's flag flying during the festival.
I had the pleasure of marching and meeting some great folks from all walks of life at Pipefest 2005. If you look at Photo Gallery II the first shot is the group I marched with. I am the Drum Major on the right in the white shirt and red sash. The Drum Major on my left is from Georgia and the next to him is a Drum Major from Sweden. Her pipe band is made up of all helicopter pilots. It was truly an amzing experience.
My only wish was that there was sound to these pictures . It must have been fun with all those pipes and drums all in one place...Not to mention all those kilts
David, The sound was indescribable. The latest estimate is a little over 9100 pipes and drums marched that day. When the mass bands played the air vibrated from the sound. When the music started the look on the crowds face was priceless. It was truely an unforgetable event.
