Thanks for the link. Its good to see that Armed Forces Day events are becoming established in Scottish cities. In the past three years there has been an annual event for the Veterans at Carlisle Airport with flypasts and re-enactors etc. but for various reasons there was no event held this year. I met one very disappointed veteran who had come to the airport specially today, in expectation of the event being held.

I am up and down the M6 like a bride's nightie, I think I have spent more time on the M6 in the last two months than the rest of my life. Bloody solicitors.......still two more jaunts, then it's all over. New house, new job with Glasgow Museums, and, yes, a new kilt!

You have my sympathy. It's not made any easier by the roadworks either. I run a chunk of it on my way home too.
Speaking of Kilts oot. Are you going to the Worlds in Glasgow this year?

Glasgow Green Saturday 11 August
If you are, 'appen I'll see you there for a brew and a how d'you do.

I hope to see you folks at the Worlds in Glasgow on 11th August.
I was disappointed yesterday by the lack of events for Armed Forces Day. I made the effort by wearing my Royal Air Force kilt to the air museum but I never saw anyone else wearing a kilt the whole day, nor any evidence of special events.

I will be at the Worlds.
My band will be Milngavie, in grade 3A, but I very much doubt I'll be playing with them as I don't have enough time to get in the competition groove, 2013 for me probably. I will be there supporting them in G3.
I have relatives in Boghall & Bathgate PB, and good friends in several of the G1 bands, so I'll just be saying "may the best band win!" for G1.
Back to Armed Forces Day, the London Scottish were out in force in London putting the kilt in the public eye.
Shame it was Wandsworth instead of Westminster or Whitehall, though.

Wow. I'll make the Worlds if I can, as I've fallen hopelessly in lurv with pipe bands over the last year preparing for the Highland Games - though I may have a Games that day. Must check...
