    What tartan is he wearing?

We've been watching the Doctor Finlay series by Acorn TV on Amazon Prime. In season 4, episode 4 Finlay goes hill walking in a kilt. I can't tell if it is a subdued tartan or maybe an estate check tweed. To me, it seems unlikely a Scot not long out of the service, and not long after the end of the war, would be unlikely to wear a tweed kilt. My impression is tweed kilts are fairly uncommon and of more recent fashion. What is he wearing?

Getting a pic won't be easy. I might be able to freeze the image on the TV and then take a picture with this tablet and post it. One problem is the only good views of the kilt last maybe 2 seconds at most so freezing at the right point will be a challenge. Also the video is in old fashioned low definition, and in the old CRT format. I can certainly try. I come from the twist a knob to make the TV work school. Maybe someone with higher tech skills can jump in and help.

The Finlay series is a production of Scottish Television.

Yes the low tech way, just snap a pic of the screen with your phone, not the best quality but there have been times that's the only way I had.

Might be good enough to identify the tartan.
