It's absurdity on such a monumental Orwellian scale, one almost wonders if this kind of thing is pre-planned (not on the poor woman's part) as a distraction to all the 'real' stuff going on behind the scenes.

so we can scan children in machines that show all their bits, but a three inch plastic weapon that belongs to a figurine is banned, it is truly amazing the amount of common sense that has been removed from our world by bureaucracy

It's no better in the US. An 8 year old boy was kicked out of school a while back for pointing his index finger at another boy (while they were playing cowboys and indians!) and shouting "bang, bang." The school determined his weapon was intimidating....
