Another summer come and gone
Well, it's that time again. Back to school for me. Some changes are going to have to go on for me this year. Looks like I might have to sacrifice my study time to get a job, since at this rate my college fund will run out by the time I graduate, so I need something to pay for grad school.
Also: a thousand curses on general education requirements! May the armpits of the school curriculum board be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels!
I will be kilting it up, though ;)
And if anyone in the Inland Valley wants to have a kilt night, there's a great pizza place up the street.

I can't help you much; neither with your study, nor on kilt night. But I keep my fingers crossed for you. Don't give up!!!!!!!!

Hang in there. Gen Ed is designed to make up the slack, or so I have been told. I have other ideas. It is a form of "feather bedding" for academics and empire builders. (I spent 40+ years in such an institution then went over the wall ) Consider it "dues paying" and also giving you some background that you might find useful someday, one never knows! I found that out over the past half century or so.

Perhaps, but at the moment, I'm of the opinion that if I am to consider these to be the good old days, I have a very depressing future ahead of me.

Aye, summer is over and it's back to class for me, though sadly I must keep the job as well.
The purpose of general education is to separate you from more of your money (or your future income, someone else's money, tax money, and private funds) and at the same time, prop up departments which would have no purpose if people only studied that which would help them in some future career.

...aaaahhh...but just think of it...soon you'll be out of school...
...and you'll have all of those student loans to pay off...as well as car payments, rent and/or mortgage payments...possibly children to support...much like those college staff members that you are cursing out and who have to keep their jobs in order to pay back their student loans and car payments, etc. Perhaps you will become one of those self-same college featherbedders so that you can pay back your student loans and make those car and mortgage payments.
