Any Evidence Archie McIntosh Ever Wore a Kilt?
Archie McIntosh, among many things, married into and lived on the San Carlos Apache reservation here in Arizona. Any evidence he ever wore a kilt at any time in his life?
This site has most of the information I have found so far, Scotland and the American Indians.
Thank you.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

While there is no concrete evidence, he very well may have.

I very much doubt it. I've been gathering information on McIntosh for several years now, and I'm not aware of any photos of him existing, let alone the possibility of him owning and wearing Highland rig. Possible, yes, but I wouldn't have taken such a claim to my MA committee without evidence.
Ted -- I have an article written back in the 1960s from the Arizona State Historical Society on Archie somewhere at my office. I'll see if I can't dig it up and send you the reference. Dan Thrapp's "The Conquest of Apacheria" also contains a fair amount of information, as well as his Al Sieber biography.

As far as I can tell from that article I linked to, McIntosh lived in Edinburgh for two years after the age of twelve, and that might be all.
San Carlos, as well as the people or characters of the Sierra Madre mountains were more or less what I was looking into, though.
Have seen some discussions on the forum lately that have led me to reconsider my prospective on that article.

Reason: clarifying a little.
