Argh. Caught Me On Video.
So Tuesday night last week was a shindig with the President of Israel, Shimon Peres; the Governor of California; Mayor of San Francisco; and many other political and industrial movers and shakers at my workplace, where I'm the Director of Security. And we had only 19 days from notification that it was a "go" to the event itself in order to do all the coordinating to make it happen. My own part of it was between the Israeli Consulate, Shin Bet dignitary protection, US Secret Service, SFPD, and our staff and sponsoring organizations.
All went off pretty well, though, and we also streamed it live (and archived it) for those who couldn't be there (we could only physically handle about 2,000). I was only occasionally in the main sanctuary where the presidential address was given (though at one point I was close enough to the president to literally reach out and touch him. . .and was also cleared for that level of proximity); spent most of my time checking out everything from the protestors at the sole checkpoint into the security zone, a bit over a block out, to the building interior. But to my own surprise I did end up with a cameo appearance before the president came on.
In the archived video, you can see me come in from the right about 55 seconds into it, for about half a minute:

Great video. That being said, where is the form that states that I will not identify you being in the video.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

That's two videos I've seen you in! The first one was a little cooler, simply because you were talking about ninja stuff. Though I'm definitely impressed with your level of clearance--I can barely get approved for a carnival ride.
I'm probably violating rule #5, but those protestors? I hope you...ah, never mind.

I'm hoping you're talking about this bit from MythBusters:

As far as I know, there isn't much else out there apart from brief appearances on the commercially released videos of the annual Bujinkan Daikomyosai training festivals in Japan, where Hatsumi sensei occasionally makes me get out there and show something.

We needn't get into rights or wrongs of any particular causes. I wasn't worried about those guys, as I knew they were planning to start at 17:00 in front of our building and the police department was set to clamp down the security/controlled access zone a full block out in all directions at 15:00.
It was a little dicier getting things set for what we figured would be the inevitable disruptors with no arrest records who would manage to get through the screening process and make it inside. So apart from Federal and foreign agency personnel directly protecting the president, we also had plenty of uniformed PD officers inside as well, assigned to our volunteer ushers in specific interior zones to keep things civil. Since it was private property the PD couldn't just grab and arrest someone standing up and being obnoxious, so we worked out that our staffers could simply catch a cop's eye and point to the offending person(s), thereby identifying them as the ones to be summarily removed. I had set them up with a large room near the main gate as a temporary holding/processing area and had a stack of citizen's arrest complaint forms ready to use (in other words, I was technically making the arrests and the police were taking custody of the offenders).
But as it happened I didn't get to use a single one -- no one tried anything inside. Better to have a plan and not need it than need one and not have it.

Very nice! Quite impressive too!
I've mentioned before why Ryan doesn't wear a watch. But do you realize that Dale has never flushed a toilet? He simply scares the ---- out of it.
Excellent bearing, sir! You convey all that a protective detail should. Thanks for sharing

Half a minute in plain sight....
I'd like to cancel my Ninja classes please.

Awesome stuff, sounds like you meet some pretty interesting people in your line of work. Closest I ever came to rubbing elbows with anyone like that, I was a "just for decoration" Marine in blues, who just had to look good standing there.

Oh ye of little faith, its all part of Dale's cunning plan. If "they" are watching him, "they" will not see the 422 others! Well done Dale.
