I wore my kilt to the Binghamton parade day saint Patrick's day parade. And i got a bunch of different reactions for a parade full of pipers i was surprised at how many people would stare. I got stares, People taking pictures, people taking pictures trying not to let me see they were taking pictures a few compliments on my kilt and beard. Saw some guys wearing field hockey skirts, a guy commented on my kilt kinda like a hey we are both wearing kilts kind of thing but whatever he was wearing wasn't pleated. A young man came up to and shook my hand and said "hey your the first person i have seen in a kilt in the crowd" with a thick Scottish accent. He was also wearing a kilt with a nice formal or semi formal sporran. It was a good time there were a few pipe bands. our local band Broome County Celtic pipes and drums, New york city emerald society, A fireman pipe band. and a couple others. There was a really cool Saint Brendan parade float too it had a boat that rocked from side to side and a wale that shot green white and orange confetti out of its blow hole. I'm hoping to see the Boston parade in a couple weeks too.
Also ill tell you what i wish i had a heavy weight wool kilt in the wind we had today. my kilt kept wanting to blow up and with the people taking sneaky pictures of me it probably wouldn't have been a good thing if it blew up.
I was hoping to come down to Bingo today, but my surgically-repaired shoulder has been causing me some distress. Sounds like you had a good time. You can probably find Brian at McGirk's tonight if the mood strikes you.
