Blizzard of 2013
I hope all of the North East rabble is staying safe and warm. We are getting snowed in pretty good here right now. The accumulation isn't too bad, IMO, but the winds are pretty bad. Lost power for about an hour, but we're back in business now. I figure I'll be pushing the snowblower around for quite a while tomorrow. Don't expect I'll be kilting either.
How is everyone making out?

Daughter in Salem says so far, just a typical blizzard. Hope it doesn't get too bad for all of you.

It started to snow here in Halifax about an hour ago. Typical blizzard conditions so far. We're expecting between 30-50cm which is a lot when wind is involved. Storm is supposed to continue for most of Saturday and into Sunday.

We're expecting snow closures on the I-5 Grapevine this weekened in Southern California. Kind of funny that the weather eased up and then said, "Oh hel* no! I've not yet begun to act like winter!"

Maine reporting in Saturday afternoon....
Been snowing here since 6am Friday. Blizzard winds started Friday evening and still going strong!
Hard to tell how much snow has fallen, some of the drifts are higher than my 4 foot fence.
11 degrees but with the wind chill factor, I don't even want to think about it.....Brrrrrrrrr
Hunkered down by the woodstove and waiting for it to stop so we can start digging out.
My 6 month old lab puppy is having a ball playing in the drifts!
Amazing that we have power-hope the folks who got hit hard by hurricane Sandy got a break with this one

Have fun, Tess.
Got the snow cleaned up, and it's time to relax. The average depth was about 24", with drifts to about 36". This was my spaniel's first significant snow fall, and she loved it.
If you're snowbound please take all the nessecary precautions to stay safe. Don't over do it, and keep all vents clear of snow. We've had one CO death here already because of the snow.

We got about 30" here with some significant drifts. Today we have a beautiful day to clean up. I've got my truck dug out and cleaned off but there's still another car hiding behind that heap of snow behind me!

We got about two feet here in north-central Massachusetts. I spent a few hours yesterday clearing the driveway and digging cars out, and another couple today with the roof rake - we have a wet, slushy mess on the way that's going to be bad news for roofs with 2 feet of snow on them.
While it was snowing, though, I made myself a glengarry bonnet! (Pardon the squint, it was quite bright out)
