Big Ben turns 150 today - and yes, Ben's the bell and not the clock tower...

Happy Birthday Ben, I'll never forget the first time I heard you sing while staring at Westminster Abbey in slack jawed amazement.

Not many people do get to see it in person, but I understand there are ocassional guided tours.
I've stood on the Green on New Year's Eve many times to hear it ring in the year

its huge ....when folk get the chance to go they should even if its to just look at it for a while

Skuawt ,that isn't Big Ben, that's actually the Clock Tower , Big Ben is inside it!

i dont think i`ll ever see the insides of the tower ...you can see bens face though so does that count?

Seems as though something named "Big Ben" shouldn't sound Bong. "Bieng" is more appropriate. I remember the first time I heard it ring, I couldn't believe how loud is was compared to other bell towers. Many Happy Returns Big Guy!
