Boston Marathon
My wife is in Boston and she will be running the marathon on Monday. I know Boston is a big place, and there are ~20,000 runners, but if there are any X-Markers who see someone running with a sign that says "Anna" from Canada, 5'4" and blond, that's her! I am so proud of her for doing this so please forgive my bragging. Three years ago she was recovering from an operation to remove a brain tumour, so she's come a long way! She won't be wearing a kilt, but she'll be wearing her NYC commemorative tartan skirt while she's in Boston.

Macman,
Wow, you really have good reason to be proud of her; she must be one determined lady. I hope she does well.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

I may be walking a portion of the marathon route, wearing a kilt of course. Tell her to wave to ME if she sees me walking on the sidewalk!

Best of luck to your wife with the Boston Marathon, MacMan. Let us know how she gets on. The only marathon I've ran was the Edinburgh Marathon - once was enough but I've done 100 Half Marathons over the years. Now that I'm older and slower the only one which still do is the Great North Run (40,000 entrants) where I wear the kilt and the carnival atmosphere carries me to the finish.

Thanks, everyone. I will pass on your posts. The NYC tartan is a beautiful tartan, and very symbolic as well, and I have to say that she does wear it well!

The race was yesterday, and David has not told us how Anna did.
Come on David, don't keep us in suspense!
