Since the man is going all out for laughs, I suppose you can forgive him for regarding the Barbour tartan (designed for coat linings) as a family sett. Not to mention the rest of the not entirely accurate stuff he shoves in there.
    A great laugh nonetheless.
    Many thanks, Micah.

Oh it was rife with incorrect information but it was too funny not to share.

    Talking Irn bru

Funny article. And I think Diggs pizza in Boise sells Irn bru. So it's not, common but can be found in the US.

One of the comments on that page, written in Scots, I could translate, but I'm afraid it would be regarded as obscene, or at least rather off colour, LOL!

Oddly enough, Iron Brew (as it is labelled in this neck of the woods) is quite a popular line in fizzy drinks in South Africa.
Several companies producing drinks in various (synthetic) fruit flavours also make Iron Brew.
Personally I find it rather too sweet, but a few years back I found a very tasty variety sold only by a particular department store group. However within a couple of months that line of drinks had disappeared from the market completely.
    Regards,
    Mike

And y'all were worried about what folks would think of the Robertson's coming to Scotland. From the description, Rednecks would fit right in.

Hilarious article.. 2 things: Irn Bru is not to hard to come by here, In fact, a store right up the street sells it. But the only time I can really drink it is when I have overindulged the night before, much the same way my sons used to say they could only drink Gatorade after a day of playing sports...Also i am really amused by the references to Hawick, I know a handful of people from that town and their accounts are all very similar. never been there myself yet, but starting to wonder if I ever should~ ha ha.

As this thread is about a fizzy drink rather than kilts it is being moved to Miscellaneous.
