Bug season: midges, black flies ,etc

It's that time of the year, when biting bugs are lurking, wanting to feed on our blood. Maybe this will help:

waulk softly and carry a big schtick

great video. I can't speak to north Ontario but this song would do well in Northern New Hampshire at this time of year also.

One of my "stock" answers to "What's under the kilt?" <wink> <wink> <nudge> <nudge>
is "Insect repellent" -- not a problem this time of year here, but wait 'till November rolls
    around again.

I've lived in places where those blackflies or their cousins lived -- I can't say that I miss them,
though our local mozzies make up for their lack of numbers with sheer voraciousness.

Song by Wade Hemsworth. He didn't write many songs but they all had something to say. Nice video.

Thankfully our midges are the non-biting variety (not the black flies or mosquitos of course) but boy have they really been a pest this year! Looks like it's going to be a bad year for bugs.

Funnily enough, well not really, I got my 1st couple of midge bites this evening. Skin So Soft doesn't work on me. If you are susceptible to being bitten, stand next to me; the midges will leave you alone in favour of feasting on me. Where is the deet?

Cheers to you. Great stuff. "Saved my bacon" on many an occasion. Recommended by hordes of other Scotsmen and the British Army Parachute Regiment!

Would this magical potion actually repeal horse flies? ( the mind movie of a horse fly up my kilt makes for nightmares! Those buggers take a big chunk of flesh, even through three layers! )
