Can you name that kid's Scottish Brownie?

When I was very young, we had Scottish neighbours. One year, they took their sons, one of whom was my best friend, back to Scotland and my friend returned with a Brownie doll who had the stereotyped name of ___________. (I can't remember the thing's name, which is the point of all this, but I think it was stitched on his brownie jumper or something). Anyway, _______________ ended up sitting on the second floor window sill of my friend's bedroom, where the little creature remained quiet and reserved- that is, until one day when my friend and I were walking up to the house, returning from some adventure, and the Brownie turned round and started cussing us out in loud and melodramatic terms, hopping up and down and striding back and forth on the sill, declaiming with waving arms and a Brownie voice about what "horrid horrid little boys" we were and expounding on how for various reasons he "despaired" of us altogether! Of course it was my friend's mother providing the action, she had that sort of British sense of humour, but being probably 6 or 7 at the time, I think we took the notion of a walking, talking Brownie in stride- I remember my friend explaining to me that it was just _______________ acting out. OK, the point of all this is that I can't for the life of me remember the stupid Brownie's name and both my friend and his mother left us prematurely and so can't help me. If anyone steeped in Scottish culture has suggestions about what such a souvenir Brownie figure WOULD be named (at the age of six, I remember thinking it was the perfect name for a Brownie) it may trigger my memory and add a lot to it. I've been trying for +20 years. Suggestions gratefully received !
