Cancer Free!
For the new folks, back in February I was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia - a common leukemia in olde geezers like me. Fortunately, also a slow cancer, and even more fortunately they have chemo that can "cure" it without hair loss and without nausea. I did a week of that chemo back in March then had to isolate in my bachelor cave for a month since the chemo killed white blood cells too, giving me no immunity.
My blood work since has been good and back in the normal range. Two weeks ago went up to Flagstaff and got a bone marrow biopsy. They ran the same tests they used to find and diagnose the hairy cells. Now - the same tests show no sign of the hairy cells.
Yeah, I'd been worried I might need to do a second round of chemo. No more worries.
Now dealing with survivor guilt - or survivor joy. Just feel lucky.

Good news, for sure! Feel free to indulge in any excessive degree of survivor joy that comes to mind.
Best wishes!
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
