College.
Being a senior in high school now, I've had to reflect on what it is that I want to do with my life... I've come to the conclusion that I want a Biology Degree with an Emphasis in Marine Science and Freshwater Ecology. Now, if I did my figurings correctly, I'll hopefully have a PhD when I'm 27... Just thought I'd share my random thoughts...

I have a Marine Bio degree and have never used it, fun to get though lots of girls and field work was fun.

Thanks for the info on it. Yeah, still not sure what I'm gonna do with it, either. Job with the DNR, maybe?

Ah, don't worry. I'm doing archaeology, and it's wonderful to get girls, but who knows what I'm gonna do after grad school...tough job market out there.

If myt son's experience is anything to go by, he thought about the same length of time. The reality?? He was 32 when he finished so be prepared for a long hard slog.
Best of luck - it is worth it in the end. At least the PhD will give you some other options, including saying in academia (teaching or research).

I have a BS degree in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology . I don't use it either and probably won't since I have been out of the field for the last 8 years. It was a blast getting it though. UC Davis in california, where I got my degree ,has a great freshwater ecology/Wildlife bio department. Try to get minor in something non biology (ie computers, or business) to make yourself more marketable. The hands on labs and field classes were the most educational and fun.
