Comments at the gas station
I live in a small town. The people here don't get out of their comfort zone much. So needless to say I get more negative comments then positive.
I seldom let what others think or say bother me.
While out and about today I had to stop for gas and went in to get a drink.
As I was at the cooler I heard the lady at the counter say"that is a kilt not a skirt, their is a difference. Real men wear kilts."
When I reached the counter a group of teens just put their heads down and walked out. I thanked her and we had a nice conversation.
I usually don't write about my day,but that was the first time I didn't have to explain my kilt.
Here is a pic when I got home.

Ah, ignorance is as ignorance does! They make fun of what they don't understand. There seems always to be one in the crowd who knows though, and tha's all it takes!1

Living in a small town, I understand. Its such a joy to have a healthy conversation about kilts.
Will be five years kilted in my small town (6,800) next month. As people "get used" to seeing me kilted the comments have fallen off greatly.
In fact, if I'm not kilted I often get asked why.

Yes it is. For running around it is becoming my favorite. Just pack the cargo pockets and go.
