Condition Update
Well, I am back home now. I spent 11 days in the hospital and was discharged last Wednesday. While I have checked the forum every day since I arrived back home, I haven't posted anything until now. I am still hooked up to an I.V. pump which delivers 3,000,000 units of antibiotics every 4 hours, due to a massive infection in my left arm and ankle. Ihave to stay on the pump for about another week or two.
My original cancer has come back, but my oncologist says that the prognosis is good for me to live quite a few years longer. However, I will be having to undergo weekly low dose chemo for the rest of my life. But that is a small price to pay if my quality of life is as good as the doctor says it should be. I get my second chemo dose this coming Wednesday, but, at least with the first dose, I have had no side effects yet. I had none with my original treatment 12 years ago.
In conclusion, Thanks to all of my fellow Xmarkers for their prayers and support earlier. And, if anyone else is going through anything similar, feel free to PM or Email me for any advice or to just talk about our experiences.
