    Wink Contredanse (Contra dance)

Contra-dancing is ever becoming more popular in the US.
    Wikipedia article on contradance.
In the DC area alone there are two different groups that hold dances twice a week.

The video below is one that I attended last year. The calls are not too different from square dancing. And all you need to learn is taught a half-hour before the evening's dance. The music is typically folk, celtic and english.

This is one of those dances that can show off the kilt's swing. Sadly, in the video, you don't see a lot of kilts. I promise - next time I go I'll be kilted. The folks who go there are very friendly and welcoming. Some men wear actual long skirts that they wear over their shorts. -- Very interesting!

When you go to a contradance, be ready with your face towels and extra-shirts as you will sweat a lot from the vigorous dancing.

"refers to several folk dance styles in which couples dance in two facing lines of indefinite length."

    That's a lot of people!

To be completely honest, I can vouch for Mein on the sweating factor. We used to do this as a unit for PE in high school.

    That's indefinite, not infinite!

I know. But it's fun to imagine!
