Does anyone have information on the Isle of Oxney?

Greetings all,

I have found some time to do some digging into my family history and it looks like one of the branches of my family tree came from a village called Hawkhurst in the Isle of Oxney in Kent back in medieval times. (It is no longer an island and is actually about 15 miles from the sea, but that is a different story.)

I have used the Great God Google to do some checking but I can find very little information on the Isle of Oxney and can find no mention of a village by that name.

By chance, is anyone on the forum familiar with that area and can help me locate the village? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure that Hawkhurst is actually in the Isle of Oxney but these may be useful
